Glass Doors

They were designed to join the original part of the house to the new kitchen / dining room extension.

We had finalised the design style for the Meadow gate, and thought perhaps it would be a good idea to keep it in the same style. I produced some rough full size sketches of the side panels and some small sample pieces, the idea was to have some organic foliage as if it was growing out of the wall. Transitioning from 2D to 3D.

I wasn’t 100% happy with the outcome of the samples, and felt the space available was a bit confined to properly execute the design.

Back to the drawing board!

I decided to play around with texturing sheet steel. I made a sample I was happy with and sent it to the clients. We both agreed on the design concept and I began to create the piece. The piece was made with fire and a hand hammer, the raw elements of the craft, delivering a contemporary outcome.
