Design Process

We use traditional hot forged blacksmithing techniques, alongside modern technology, or a mixture of both, these are used to design and create unique items in metal.

We supply high quality iron work to suit each client’s unique request, with the same due care and attention to detail going into every piece we create.

We welcome all new enquiries for commissions to be undertaken.

If you have a specific design or idea you would like to incorporate into your piece please attach it with your email. Also, if there is a specific space where the piece is to be situated please attach a photo, this can assist with the design process with implications and restrictions within the design i.e., fixing.

If you have a rough budget in mind this will give us an idea of the hours we can allocate to designing & making your piece.

Once you have commissioned your work & paid a deposit, we can then create a mood board of ideas and samples that you are interested in incorporating. We will then draw a rough sketch to finalise ideas and create any samples if necessary.

We are happy for you to provide your own measurements, or we can come and take the measurements ourselves to ensure correct fixing. Site meetings allow us to liaise with the client and assess the site, but are not essential.

When we are bringing your ideas to life, during the creation process you will be updated with photos via email so you can watch your piece grow throughout the stages. You are welcome to visit the workshop at any time during this process after scheduling an appointment.

We are happy to install all of our works on site at an extra cost, or we are happy for you to arrange your own fixing, if applicable.
